§ 15-1. Parish health unit permit prerequisite to issuance of occupational license to food dealers.

  • The tax collector of the city shall demand of all persons engaged in manufacturing, processing, distributing, serving, selling or offering for sale, prepared food, beverages, liquors, milk or milk products for human consumption, a written permit to be issued by the parish health unit to do business as required by the state sanitary code, before issuing them a city occupational license to do business in this city; provided, however, if such permit is not issued or denied by the parish health unit within fifteen (15) days after application, the tax collector shall issue a license without the permit. If a permit is denied by the parish health unit, the tax collector shall not issue a city occupational license until such permit is issued.
